A Pretty Clever Reintroduction

I believe it is time to reintroduce myself (I WOULD say allow me to reintroduce myself but then you'd just be distracted by a musical ear worm...)
I am Laura - or Lulu - your friendly neighborhood artist based in NC. About ten years ago, I traded the monotony of spreadsheets for the vibrant chaos of the creative world, and I haven't looked in the rearview mirror since. (Except when I drive. Safety first)
Thus, Pretty Clever Words was born - a kaleidoscope of creativity and quirkiness. Pretty things with clever words.

Here's the deal - words are my magic. They can tickle your funny bone, they can charm your socks off, they can light a fire in your belly and put a spring in your step. The thrill for me lies in the glorious mess that occurs when words interact with paint, thread, inks, vinyl, and canvas.

From art that fits in a hoop to prints that demand a frame, from zippy little bags to tea towels with a twist, every piece is meticulously crafted to sprinkle a bit of inspiration and a dollop of determination into the lives of the tenacious, spirited, and fun-loving folks out there.

I'm always at the drawing board, churning out fresh designs with an authentic touch.

My tribe, my fans, my loyal customers - they're the kind of people who get a kick out of creativity, are charmed by colorful, eccentric, hand-painted art, and treasure the joy of unique accessories.

For the 2024 fall season, brace yourself for a new wave of guest check and library card art! Think of it as retro-chic meets wordplay - a joyful blend of active, fresh quotes on vintage paper.

Why these particular papers? Well, to me, reading has always been a lifeline and it truly felt as if my life began when I received that first library card. The peace, insight, and sheer entertainment that books offered was like striking gold, and I loved seeing my name on the due date card.

And those guest checks? They're a throwback to the countless hours spent in diners, nursing cup after cup of coffee, swapping stories, and sharing laughs with my friends.

I am always grateful when my pretty clever peeps spread the word about me and my business.  I hope you come along as well.

Thanks! Laura
