who is ready for s'mores!
i love the colors and fonts of vintage tin, especially those found on old snack food containers, and by combining them with reclaimed wood i am giving them new life as a solid bench.
this sturdy beauty is perfect for many occasions, from providing height for little ones to reach the sink to seating around the fire pit, to acting as a small table. it is a very versatile piece!
meant for those who share an appreciation for vintage advertising, I have cut, filed and attached a piece of a vintage snack tin to decorate the top of the bench. The tin held 'Campfire Marshmallows,' from Borden.
this square footstool is made of pine, painted in a mix of acrylic and chalk paint in rich red tones, then distressed and polished with several layers of clear and distressed wax. these layers bring out the scratches, dings and dents of the wood and add to its appeal.
the tin top is safely anchored with a line of nails, and all of the edges of this stool pass the barefoot test!
the square top is 11 x 11 inches and 1.5 inches thick, and the total height is 9 inches. perfect for all of the little nooks and empty spots in your home.
